FCA-Regulated. Globally Connected. Relentlessly Strategic.
We are a UK-based investment management and regulatory advisory firm, committed to guiding institutions, funds, and fintech leaders through complex financial landscapes with clarity and precision.
Providence Asset Management (PAM) was founded in 2008 by Professor Richard A. Werner, with Dr. Farhad Reyazat later joining as Senior Partner to expand its global vision. Together, they anchor PAM’s mission of advancing systemic resilience and sustainable finance across international markets.
Professor Richard A. Werner - Advisor in Banking and Financial Economics
Professor Werner is a globally respected economist and banking specialist whose career bridges academia, financial institutions, and policy advisory. After completing his B.Sc. in Economics at the London School of Economics, he earned his doctorate at the University of Oxford, where he also served as a European Commission Fellow.
Internationally renowned for pioneering the Quantity Theory of Credit (1992), Professor Werner reshaped economic thinking on how credit creation drives asset markets and growth. He also introduced the term quantitative easing while serving as Chief Economist at Jardine Fleming Securities (Asia) Ltd., analyzing Japan’s banking crisis and monetary policy.
He has held senior academic posts at the University of Southampton, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Sophia University in Tokyo, and founded the Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development the first institute dedicated to linking finance with sustainability.
Beyond academia, Professor Werner is a leading advocate for decentralised community banking. As Chair of Local First CIC, he promotes initiatives such as the Hampshire Community Bank, underscoring the importance of local banks in building economic resilience. With additional experience as a fund manager, senior consultant to the Asian Development Bank, and member of the ECB Shadow Council, he brings both scholarly depth and hands-on expertise to PAM’s work.
Dr. Farhad Reyazat - Senior Partner
Dr. Reyazat is a globally recognized advisor in risk management, fintech, and institutional finance, with over two decades of leadership experience across Europe and the Middle East. His expertise spans regulatory frameworks, cross-border investment, and strategic innovation.

He has counselled over 2,000 startups and funds, raising more than £300 million in equity and debt, and structuring upwards of £1.5 billion in global trade finance transactions.
Today, as Senior Partner, he drives PAM’s strategy to equip institutions, fintech firms, and global funds with the clarity, compliance, and confidence required to thrive in complex and fast-evolving markets.
